Sjoert Willemstein

Sjoert Willemstein (NL, 1943) chose for a stydy Biologicals and not for the Acedamie of fine arts. After a career in research, policy and manegement, now he gives al his time to contemporary arts, special to fotography. He works in Rotterdam, Just like in his studies on subjects of evalutionairy devolpments en in his policywork, in fotographie hr is also fascinated by movement.  Every shutter speed gives a unique foto. In every second or part of a second the subject and the surroundings are different. One of his projects is MOTION, in which he experiments with shutter speeds to make the movement visible. To make foto`s of movement and moving while making a picture visualises the space and make you feel the time. The projects so far resulted in the series "Dynamic Dreams", "Making Landscapes" and others.
