Fatima Barznge
Fatima Barznge's work explores the relation between tragedy and aesthetics. In this exhibition she presents us with a series of drawings based on her earlier work with Hewri: a type of fabric with familiar patterns.
The main theme in Barznge's work is the universal suffering of man. Although these works are based on concrete personal memories, they represent the collective memory of suffering people everywhere. Barznge's drawings are memorials to the girls and women who lived next door and died in 1988 during the war in Iraqi Kurdistan.
