Inez Smit

Inez Smit makes abstract paintings in oil and acryl. She paints structures and surfaces which have a specific proportion, making the beholder unsure about the scale of the work. The question remains unanswered: do we see an archetonic view or do we zoom into a detail in our direct surrounding. In her canvasses, Inez researches whether a moment occurs during the process in which you can acknowledge the ever-lasting \"incompleteness\". She tries to create a moment of loss of control with as few references as possible. Inez Smit`s paintings juxtapose planes and patterns in such a way that the viewer`s eye must determine what`s happening.
