Driessens & van den Baar, also known as Wandschappen, will exhibit this autumn their new work of the past two years. The artist duo's exhibition will include aninstallation with a tapestry, a portrait gallery of their children, and a crocheted hospital bed. The wide array of materials and techniques illustrates the versatility of their free work.   Since settling in Rotterdam Charlois 20 years ago, Nicole Driessens and Ivo van den Baar haven't left. In fact, this bustling part of the city has become an even greater source of inspiration for them. Besides life in the urban community, family plays an important role for them. The duo translates the day-to-day emotions that go with the experience of family life into tangible elements with an universal appeal and power. Other works are based on the local and personal experience of nature: Driessens & van den Baartransplant the foliage coverage from the neighbourhood into the gallery and invite the visitor to share their fascination for unspoiled mountain lakes.

Zhang Yan comes from Shanghai, China and is living in Rotterdam, as a master student in Lens-Based Media Design at the Piet Zwart Institute.
