To celebrate the kunstweekend Charlois (Charlois Art-weekend) Hommes gallery shall be opening a temporary space in Wandschappen's former studio.
In Anton Vrede's work one repeatedly sees an elephant, a rabbit, and sometimes a penguin or a monkey balancing on top of one other - or a hare lazing on the trunk of an elephant and expectantly staring into the distance. Sometimes the animals meet each other or take their leave. In the many years he has inhabited this menagerie, Anton Vrede now dreams more than ever of a brighter world full of trust, in delicate balance, but still... We can make good use of such dreams today.
