three channel video installation

In our history, the Machine evolved from a human-scale into a larger scale until men started to work for the machine instead of with the machine. Men has been separated from his product. The worker doesn't have a clear vision on what he is producing, since he is not connected to the process as a whole anymore. Replicant is a term taken from the film Blade Runner (1982), which means; 'android', as it appears in the film as a metaphor for future mankind. "With the second industrial revolution alienated consumption has become just as much a duty for the masses as alienated production"¹ The Spectacle is based in the unquestionable power of the image in our society. The triumph of mass-media generates torrents of information that are dictating our desires and creating our new needs. "What appears is good; what is good appears"²

In my research I speak of both, an extreme will to and extreme desire for the creation of deterritorialized movements. The creation of a separation between form and content hinders in my opinion, as much as the separation between body and mind, an unprejudiced reception, a substantial experience of the visual arts. This artificial separation hinders the unbiased travel through an artwork, the nomadic interpretationof connections, the experience of a rhizomatic identity: continually growing, continually open, looking for other identities, not running from one point, but consciously developing from a multitude of locations, thus assuming a multiplicity of identities.
